Meet the filmmaker.

I’m James Coleman, a filmmaker originally from Monterey, California, now based in Reno, Nevada. Drawn first to the dramatic California coastline and later to the wild beauty of the Sierra, I’ve been working professionally in video production since my junior year of high school. What began as a creative pursuit quickly turned into a full-fledged career — producing work for a wide range of clients, from local businesses and nonprofits to national brands and documentary projects.

In 2016, I began filming weddings and found what truly inspires me: capturing the real, unrepeatable emotion of a wedding day. Each film I create through Tahoe Film Company is designed to be more than documentation — it’s a cinematic reflection of your story, crafted to feel both timeless and deeply personal.

I’m also a husband and father — blessed with a wonderful spouse, a three-year-old son, and a one-year-old daughter. My family continually reminds me what love really looks like, and that perspective shapes how I see and tell every story.
